Simplifying Note Taking with Invio

As a software engineer, documentation is an important part of my job. Whether writing about my work, software development techniques, or programming theory, documenting my knowledge and processes helps me improve productivity.

As a new member of the engineering community, I'd like to share one of the productivity tools I use every day - my notes app. For me, a great notes app must:

  • Sync easily across devices
  • Convert notes into a simple webpage for sharing
  • Store my data securely

The tool I've found that meets all these needs is Invio.

Invio is an Obsidian plugin that:

  • Automatically synchronizes my Obsidian notes with AWS S3 or compatible cloud storage
  • Converts my notes into HTML web pages with the same styling
  • Lets me publish my notes as a self-hosted website

All without having to manage a server.

Some features I love about Invio:

  • Easy configuration using access keys
  • Automatic syncing of note changes
  • Securely storing my data in the cloud

Invio has significantly improved my workflow by:

  • Making my notes accessible from any device
  • Allowing me to quickly share pages with colleagues
  • Reducing headaches over syncing and publishing

Even as a software engineer, I prefer solutions that require minimal server maintenance.

If you're looking for a simple yet powerful notes app, especially for documenting your work as an engineer, I highly recommend giving Invio a try.
